You’re getting ready for a fancy night out; putting on a new outfit you bought for the occasion and making sure your hair and makeup is just right. You’ve been working hard for the last few months and now that you’ve accomplished your big goal, it’s time to celebrate. You’re gathering your friends for a fabulous night out because you earned it!
You love a celebration 🍾🎉🥂 especially when you’re celebrating a big accomplishment. You know how to throw yourself a party or take yourself on a fabulous night out or even on a trip after you have reached an important milestone. You are a model of what it looks like to do it big when you make it big. Kudos to you for that.
You love celebrating your accomplishments AND sometimes you want to take yourself out just because you’re worth it
While you’re great at celebrating your accomplishments sometimes you forget to celebrate yourself just for being you. You only take yourself on dates when you feel worthy of a nice date, and you usually only feel worthy when you’ve accomplished something.
You work hard which brings a lot of success to your life and sometimes you forget that it’s okay to rest, relax, and enjoy yourself on the way to achieving your goals. You want to start enjoying the journey and not just the destination. You don’t want to have to wait until the next accomplishment to celebrate or take yourself on an amazing date.
Here’s the recipe to plan a date night for yourself just because you’re worthy
Step 1: Figure out what other type of date night you want.
Do you want a night at home where you have a luxurious bath with a fancy bath bomb, your favorite candles burning and maybe even sexy music playing? Do you want a spa day? Or to visit that museum exhibit you want to go to but work keeps getting in the way? Dream big because the sky’s the limit!
Step 2: Remind yourself that you are worthy of a date night even if you’re not celebrating an accomplishment.
You are so used to only treating yourself when you feel like you’ve earned it that it might be uncomfortable to plan a date night for yourself just because you’re worthy. You are worthy of an amazing date night, and any discomfort you feel as you focus on yourself is worth the awesome experience you’ll have on the date. Step 3: Set healthy boundaries around your date night time.
Since you work so hard and your work can end up spilling over into your evenings and weekends, you’ll need to set good boundaries around the time you carve out for yourself. It’s important to remember that taking time off to enjoy yourself doesn’t mean you’re lazy or won’t reach your goals. In reality, setting healthy boundaries around work helps you get the rest you need to show up even better the next day. Step 4: Plan the date!
Now that you know what you want to do for yourself, you know you’re worthy of taking time for yourself, and you know how to set the boundaries to protect that time, it’s time to plan your perfect date. Set aside some time this week to put your plan together and start making reservations or ordering that candle and bath bomb combo you’ve been eyeing for a while. Then set a time and put the date in your calendar and get ready to have a fabulous night that’s all about you.
Step 5: Step 5: Execute the Date
Now is the time to execute the date you’ve planned for yourself. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get ready so you don’t feel rushed. Put your phone on “do not disturb” so you can have some peace and quiet. Maybe even turn off email and news notifications so you don’t have random alerts interrupting your evening. Then relax and enjoy everything you’ve planned for yourself.
Make sure to pay attention to how you feel on your date; are you feeling relaxed, happy, at peace? Are you having a hard time enjoying your time with yourself and find that you’re worrying about things? All of this is just good information that will help you on the path to building a healthy relationship with yourself (more on that later 😉).
